How To Be a Top Teammate in Your Irish Dancing School

Nov 21, 2024

Do you have a Dancer in your class who is supportive, hard working and is always there to help everyone else? That person in your class is a perfect example of a fantastic teammate and we believe that YOU can be that too. You don’t have to be in a Ceili team to be a great teammate; you just have to be willing to embody these three key values:

  • Positive Attitude

No one wants to spend time with team members who are negative nancy’s do they? So to be a top teammate it is important to be positive and kind! There’s so much to be positive about in dance class; from spending time with your friends, to seeing everyone improve at the end of each class. Be positive and kind towards your teammates, but also be positive and kind to yourself too.

  • Communication

In order to be a top teammate, you need to have strong communication skills. You’ll need to make sure that everyone is listened to, be able to give constructive feedback, express your ideas clearly and build trust with you and your dance friends. When we all communicate in a helpful and calm way, we all work better as a team and the whole class improves as a result of this.

  • Reliability

Finally, being reliable means being dependable and committed to your dancing and your dance friends. If you say you’re going to do something to help someone, it is important that you are reliable and are there to help them; just as much as you would like them to be there to help and support you.

Your example as a top teammate will inspire everyone around you to be the best teammate that they can be too - your attitude is contagious! When we work as a team we can all achieve amazing things and help each other along the way.

As they say, teamwork makes the dreamwork!
